EVALUATION OF KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE OF ADVERSE DRUG REACTION REPORTING AMONG MEDICAL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS IN A TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL

ABSTRACT
Spontaneous reporting of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) plays a majorrole in pharmacovigilance programme. Hence this present study wasundertaken to evaluate the impact of educational intervention; toassess the knowledge and attitude of reporting adverse drug reactionsamong the medical undergraduate students. It was a cross-sectionalquestionnaire based study conducted in a tertiary care medical college.Data was analysed and presented in percentage and counts. A total oftwo hundred and thirty eight (238) medical undergraduates participatedin this study; most of them were aware of the concepts of ADRreporting. The results of this study show that the educationalintervention about ADR reporting in curriculum has created awarenessof pharmacovigilance programme among students and may help themto incorporate in their future clinical practice.
