ABSTRACT

Functionalization of quinoline aldehydes, derived from isatin framework was carried out using Morita–Baylis–Hillman (MBH) chemistry. A number of novel quinoline-based diverse MBH adducts was prepared via the reaction of derivatives of 6-methoxy, 2-pheny, quinolinyl-4-carbaldehyde and various activated alkenes in good yields. Many of these compounds were found to be potent when tested against human prostate cancer (Pc-3). The prepared Quinolinyl derivatives were subjected to physicochemical studies like melting point determination, TLC and % yield. The structures of synthesized products were conformed through spectral study.

Keywords: Isatin, Quinoline aldehydes, Morita-Baylis-Hillman, Activated alkenes.
