ABSTRACT

The present work: an attempt has been made to formulate stomach and intestine drug delivery system from single dosage formulation of tablets consisting of amoxycillin trihydrate and pantoprazole. Two drugs were selected as suitable for the design of stomach and intestine drug delivery system from single dosage formulation of tablets for oesophagus, stomach, upper small intestine and duodenum ulcers and against Helicobacter pylori infection too. Optimized single dosage formulation of tablets were prepared using 32 factorial design composition, evaluated all nine batches of formulations and among them 3 batches were selected for in vitro drug release and in vivo study. On the basis of all evaluation parameters of prepared tablets, it concluded that prepared F5 formulation was the best formulation and prepared tablets showed both stomach and intestine drug delivery system and amoxycillin trihydrate drug immediately released in the stomach and Pantoprazole drug released in the intestine; without degradation of pantoprazole drugs when it would pass through acidic condition of stomach. Therefore F5 formulation of the tablets can be used for potent oesophagus, stomach, upper small intestine, duodenum ulcers and against Helicobacter pylori infection.

Keywords: ulcer, Helicobacter pylori, intestine, stomach, amoxycillin, pantoprazole.
