ABSTRACT
A new series of 2-(6-methoxynaphthalen-5-yl)-3-phenylthiazolidin-4-one derivatives (3a-h) were synthesized by reacting substituted N-((6-methoxynaphthalen-5-yl)methylene)benzenamine (2a-h) with mercaptoacetic acid in anhydrous zinc chloride as an catalyst. The structures of newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, mass and elemental analysis. All the synthesized compounds were evaluated for anti-inflammatory (in-vitro) and antimicrobial activity.
Keywords: Schiff Bases, Thiazolidine-4-one, anti-inflammatory (in-vitro), antibacterial, antifungal activity.
