ABSTRACT
Synthesis of nanoparticles has been an exploring research topic in recent days due to their advanced uses in biomedical fields. Bio reduction of silver nitrate (AgNO3) with help plant extract is a great advantage in synthesis of nanoparticles. In the present investigation, silver Nano-particles were synthesized using aqueous extract of coleus forskohlii root, stem and leaf. The extract was mixed with 1mM silver nitrate and incubated at room temperature n incubation the colour change was observed. These biologically synthesized nanoparticles have inhibitory effect on bacteria (Bacillus subtilis, E.faecalis, S.aureus Pseudomonas aeroginosa and, E.coli) and fungi (T.rubrum, T.simii, T.mentagrophytes, A.flavus, C.albicans).The sample treated with boiling gives good inhibitory effect for root compare with leaf and stem. The highest inhibitory effect was shown
in E.coli and T.simii 18mm respectively. The plant materials mediated synthesis of silver nanoparticles is comparatively rapid; eco-friendly; less expensive and has wide applications like antibacterial therapy in modern medicine.
