ABSTRACT
Hypoalbuminemia is a common clinical deficiency in burn patients and is associated with complications related to increased extra vascular fluid. To determine where there is relation exists between the degree of burns, size of wound and the albumin levels. We have conducted study in 60 patients with severe burns with second degree and third degree burn who were admitted in burns ward in the plastic surgery department of NMC. Our study results showed decreased albumin levels and a negative correlation between the wound size and serum albumin levels.
