ABSTRACT
Simple, sensitive and selective methods are developed for the spectrophotometric determination of drugs, viz., Dobutamine hydrochloride, Tramadol hydrochloride, Trimetazidine dihydrochloride, Terazosin and Esmolol hydrochloride, based on their reactivity towards Chloramine-T. The method of each drug depends upon oxidation of drugs by Chloramine-T (Excess) and estimating the amount of unreacted Chloramine-T by Rhodamine-B dye at λmax 557nm. These methods have been applied for the determination of drugs in their pure form as well as in tablet formulations. The effect of excipients has also been studied and found to have no effect. These methods have been validated in terms of guidelines of ICH.
