ABSTRACT
Ascidians has potential source to discover novel marine natural products (MNPs) with promising biomedical applications. In recent years notable numbers of compounds were reported from these species prospective compounds are reached to various clinical trials. Alkaloids, Indole, β carboline Alkaloids, Pyrocridine, and Saturosporine are the main chemistry group were reported from the ascidian species. The genus Didemnum sp is the most studied species from this group, Anti-tumor and Anti-cancer compounds are the main area of interest in the screening of MNPs from Ascidians (64%), followed by Anti-Malarial (6%) and remaining others. We represent the elevated level of research focusing to discovering new MNPs from the ascidians species, which will lead to discover new marine drugs to develop new therapies against cancer disease in the future.
