ABSTRACT
Clinical study of Polyherbal formulation (RVSPHF567) was selected for clinical investigation of Hepatoprotective activity. Clinical study of patients suffering from hepatic infections was selected. The antihepatotoxic activity of the Polyherbal formulation (RVSPHF567) has been studied on human. Polyherbal formulation (RVSPHF567) was made by preparing mixture of powder of different plants of herb such as Ajowan, Cardamon, Clove, Cumin, Mace and Nutmeg, which were known to be rich source of hepatoprotective activity. The ability of Polyherbal formulation (RVSPHF567), traditionally used in treatment of jaundice was tested for hepatoprotective activity on 30 patients who were suffering from hepatic infections. Polyherbal formulation (RVSPHF567) was given thrice a day (morning, noon and night, 3.3gm each time) orally with red tender coconut water for 3 days
depending on the severity of the disease. The clinical studies were done by selection and screening of patient of different age by administering the drug Polyherbal formulation (RVSPHF567). The clinical parameters like SGPT, SGOT, Serum ALP, Total Bilirubin, Total protein, Albumin and Total Cholesterol were evaluated. The Polyherbal formulation (RVSPHF567) produced remarkable reduction in SGPT, SGOT, Serum ALP, Total Bilirubin and Total Cholesterol, while Total Protein and Albumin were increased. The results of 30 patients with Hepatic infection in study group were analyzed. The details and results observed in the present study were analyzed under the above mentioned 07 categories. All data’s before treatment, after treatment and after the follow-up of study were codified, analyzed and statistically tested with help of paired ‘t’ test and the efficacy of treatment have been analyzed by student ‘t’ under all the seven symptoms.
