ABSTRACT
The main objective of the study is to design, develop and to assess the in vitro evaluation of Celecoxib matrix tablet prepared with natural polysaccharide such as Amylose(C) and Pectin(D) with the concentration of 20%, 30% and 40%. The effect of combination of drug candidate with different polysaccharide will reveal the suitable, optimized 200mg matrix tablet for targeting to colon. The combination of the Celecoxib matrix tablets with different polysaccharides were designed and studied for in vitro drug release. The release profile was carried out in Simulated Gastric Fluid(SGF), Simulated Intestinal Fluid(SIF), Simulated Colonic Fluid(SCF).The in vitro release profile of Celecoxib matrix tablet with Guargum, Cyclodextrin, Amylose and Pectin was found to be (CF2)88.4%, (DF2)90.3% respectively.
Keywords: amylose, pectin, celecoxib, colon targeted drug delivery, matrix tablet, natural polysaccharides.
