ABSTRACT
Raloxifene hydrochloride (RLX) is a second generation selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) non steroidal compound that belongs to the benzothiopene class of compounds. The chemical designation is methanone, [6-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl) benzo [b] thien-3-yl]-[4-[2-(l-piperidinyl) ethoxy] phenyl]-, hydrochloride.RLX is used in the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis and invasive breast cancer in post-menopausal women and also reduces the risk of hormone-positive breast cancer and vertebral fractures. Literature survey reveals that Raloxifene hydrochloride is estimated individually by Visible spectrometry, RP HPLC,LC-UV, ,Dissolution by RP-HPLC, Assay& Purity by Gradient RP-HPLC, Stability indicating HPTLC, RP-TLC/densitometry, Stability indicating HPLC, LC-MS/MS. quantitative assay by capillary electrophoresis.
Keywords: Raloxifene hydrochloride, Visible Spectroscopy, RP- HPLC, LC-UV, LC-MS/MS, HPTLC, RP-TLC, densitometry, capillary electrophoresis.
