ABSTRACT Productivity is critical for the long-term competitiveness and profitability of organisations. It is considered as the best tool for comparing management effectiveness between different units of an enterprise as well as between different enterprises. It provides information on how effectively and efficiently an organisation manages its resources. Paul J. Meyer’s quoted this as “Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.” But the question is how to quantify ‘Productivity’? Conventional measures of productivity are based on output per unit time and are getting obsolete now. In current scenario, various other measures are used for productivity. For a Generic Pharmaceutical company, productivity is analyzed by number of factors like volume of products reaching the market, knowledge input in terms of number of Patents filed, number of drug candidates completing a successful phase of clinical development and many more. This paper focuses on some of such factors which play an important role in assessing the productivity of a Generic Pharmaceutical Company. Keywords: Productivity, Patents, Clinical development, Generic Pharmaceutical Company. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
