FORMULATION DEVELOPMENT AND RESPONSE SURFACE OPTIMIZATION OF ONDANSETRON HCL LIPOSOME, ETHOSOME AS NATURAL VESICLE FOR COMPARATIVE STUDY

ABSTRACT
Aim of this work was evaluation of Liposomes by 32 factorial,
Ethosome by box-behnken design.comparative study of Ondansetron
HCl Liposome with Ethosome for physiococemical characterization
was carried out by scanning electron microscopy, zeta sizer, particle
size analyser and freeze fracture performed.Ethosomes shown a higher
% EE greater ability to deliver entrapped drug than Liposome because
of ethonol effect. The optimized batch of Ethosome has zeta potential
of -14.12 mv, vesicle size was found to 242.3nm (PDI = 0.245) and
optimized Liposome batch has zeta potential was -55.12 mv and the
vesicle size found to be 0.200 nm (PDI = 0.200).Ex-vivo relese study
performed using Guinea pig skin through Franz’s cells for (24 hr). Ethosome shows 2.1
times higher flux than Liposomes by Hyton and chains analysis. Gel prepared by using
Carbopol-940 shows pesudoplastic flow. Ondansetron HCl undergoes first-pass metabolism,
so its bioavailability may be improved when delivered through transdermal route.
