ABSTRACT
The screening of compounds is an alternative approach to highthroughput
screening for identification of leads for therapeutic targets.
Some of the thiazole, triazole and tetrazole derivatives were
synthesized and compounds were screened for their antibacterial
activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis,
Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Salmonella typhii and pathogenic fungi
like Candida albicans and Aspergilla niger by cup plate method by
using Cephalosporin and Amphoterecin-B as standards. All the
synthesized compounds have exhibited significant activity against the
bacteria and fungi tested. All the synthesized compounds were
characterized in terms of their IR and NMR spectral studies to
elucidate their structures and purity.
Keywords: Thiazole, Triazole, Tetrazoles, Antibacterial activity, Antifungal activity.
