THE CLINICAL EFFECT OF PIPPALI CHURNA WITH MADHU IN THE MANAGEMENT OF AMLAPITTA

ABSTRACT
Amlapitta (Gastro Oesophageal Reflux Disorder) is a disorder of
Annavaha Strotas (digestive system) in which sourness of Pitta gets
increased. It is generally considered to be one of the most prevalent
conditions affecting the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. A study was
conducted for 30 days. Out of the resembling cases of Amlapitta, 60
numbers of cases were selected. They were randomly divided into two
groups as trial drug group (TDG) & control drug group (CDG) keeping
behind parity in the Age, Sex etc. One group (TDG) treated with
Pippali churna with madhu as trial drug whereas another group (CDG)
treated with Tab. Famotidine as control drug. The observation made
during the course of trial recorded systematically. In this study, it is
found that, both the medicines were well tolerated having no patients
force to discontinue out of drug intolerance. The Clinical assessment of
results shows that the trial drug achieved similar benefit to control drug as regards subjective
and objective parameters with Highly Statistically significant improvement in both.
