A STUDY OF SUBSTITUTED THIAZOLIDINONES: SYNTHESIS AND ANTIMICROBIAL EVALUATION OF 2-[{5-CHLORO-3-METHYL-1-(4- METHYLPYRIDIN-2-YL) PYRAZOLIDIN-4-YL}-3-SUBSTITUTED PHENYLTHIAZOLIDIN-4-ONES

ABSTRACT
Several 2-[{5-chloro-3-methyl-1-(4-methylpyridin-2-yl)pyrazolidin-4-
yl}-3-substituted phenylthiazolidin-4-ones 4(a-f) have been
synthesized by using conventional synthetic strategy. All the
synthesized compounds have been characterized by elemental (C,H,N)
and spectral (I.R., 1H- NMR, Mass) analysis. Furthermore, synthesized
compounds were screened for their antibacterial as well as antifungal
activities. Screened derivatives explored mild to moderate antibacterial
and antifungal inhibition.
Keywords: phenylthiazolidin-4-ones, antibacterial and antifungal activities.
