CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES OF 4- THIAZOLIDINONE

ABSTRACT

4-thiazolidinone is a most important derivative of thiazolidinone. It have carbonyl group at 4 position & substituent in 2,3 & 5 position may be varied but the greatest different in structure & properties is exerted by the group attached to carbon atom at second position & to N- atom at third position.synthesis of 4-thiazolidinone have been carried out either by cyclization of acyclic compound or by interconversion among appropriate substituted thiazolidinone derivatives. The synthesis by classical method it required about 12 hr while the same reaction which microwave irradiation required only 8 min. It have pharmacological activities like anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antimicrobial, antiparkonsonian, antipsychotic, anticonvulsant, antitumor activity.
