ABSTRACT
The present study was designed to study the antimicrobial activities of
acetone, ethanol and aqueous extracts that were prepared from fresh
fruit of Annona squamosa. The antimicrobial activity of ethanolic,
acetone and aqueous fruit extract of Annona squamosa were tested
against Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella
pneumonia, Esherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Streptococcus pyogene
and Aspergillus niger. All the tested microorganisms were inhibited by
Annona squamosa fruit extracts. The result of the antimicrobial activity
of three extract (acetone, ethanol & aqueous) of Annona squamosa
fruit showed positive effect in all tested microorganism. The fruit
extract had maximum activity against gram negative bacteria than
gram positive bacteria.
