STRUCTURAL INVESTIGATIONS OF SOME NEW COORDINATION COMPOUNDS OF ALUMINIUM WITH NITROGEN, OXYGEN AND SULPHUR DONOR LIGANDS

ABSTRACT
A new series of aluminium (III) complexes with semicarbazones and
thiosemicarbazone in 1:1 (M:L) molar ratio in dry benzene have been
synthesized. Ligands used in these studies have been prepared by the
condensation of diketones/dialdehydes with thiosemicarbazide and
semicarbazide hydrochloride using ethanol as reaction medium. The
bonding pattern and structural studies of these coordination compounds
have been carried out by elemental analysis, IR and 1H NMR spectral
studies. The antibacterial studies of the ligands and their metal
complexes have been carried out and their results have been reported.
