SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF FURFURYL AMINE DITHIOCARBAMATE (FADTC) LIGAND AND IT’S METAL COMPLEXES

ABSTRACT A new series of bidentate ligand dithocarbamate of Furfuryl amine(FADTC) have been synthesized by new synthetic methods as it’s sodium salt. In the reaction of Copper Chloride and Ruthenium Chloride with FADTC the corresponding complexes were prepared. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR, UV, Powder X-ray diffraction, conductometric titrations and TGA – DTA. These metal complexes show moderate and selective activity towards some of the test microorganisms.
