ABSTRACT
Anterior teeth are most prone to dental trauma. Coronal fractures of
these teeth are the most common form of dental trauma that affects the
patient both socially and psychologically. It can occur at any age
affecting mainly children and adolescents. When the tooth fragment is
available and there is no or minimal violation of the biological width,
reattachment of the dental fragment is one of the options for managing
coronal tooth fractures. Along with good and long-lasting aesthetics, it
also restores function and provides a positive psychological response.
Although is a relatively simple procedure, patient cooperation and
understanding of the limitations of the treatment is of utmost
importance for good prognosis. This case report is based on the coronal
rehabilitation of a fractured tooth using tooth fragment reattachment
after placement of a fibre post. Clinical Significance: Reattachment of
fractured tooth fragments offers a viable restorative option for the clinician as it restores tooth
function and aesthetics with the use of a very conservative and cost-effective approach.
Keywords: coronal reattachment, fractured segment, fibre reinforced post.
