ABSTRACT
The aim of the present study is to investigate the antimicrobial activity,
anticancer activity and phytochemical analysis of different extracts in
Clerodendrum inerme. The solvent s methanol were used to extract the
bioactive compounds from the leaves for their antimicrobial activity
against different strains of bacteria by disc diffusion method. The
maximum antibacterial activity and cytotoxic effect on human colon
cancer cell line (HT-29) was observed in crude methanolic extract of
Clerodendrum inerme and analysis of phytochemical screening reveals
the presence of Alkaloids, Sapopnins, Steroids, Glycosides,
Flavanoids, and Reducing sugar.
Keywords: Clerodendrum inerme, antibacterial activity, anticancer activity and phytochemical analysis.
