A SOLID LIPID NANOPARTICLE: AS NOVEL DRUG DELIVERY: AN OVERVIEW
Prof. S. D Labhade*, Prof. Dr. R. B Saudagar
ABSTRACT Oral route is the most preferred route for drug administration due to greater convenience, less pain, high patient compliance, reduced risk of cross-infection, and needle stick injuries. Major portion of the drug delivery market is occupied by oral drug delivery systems. However, oral drug delivery is continuously looking into newer avenues due to realization of the factors like low drug solubility, poor gastrointestinal (GI) absorption, rapid metabolism, high fluctuation in the drug plasma level, and variability due to food effects. These factors may cause disappointing in vivo results leading to failure of the conventional delivery systems.[1] It is well known that the majority of the new entities coming directly from synthesis are poorly soluble.
