SYNTHESIS AND BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF NEW N-ALKYL, 2,6-DIALKYL-3’-PHENYL-1H,1’H-SPIRO(PYRIDINE-4,2’-QUINAZOLIN)-4’(3’H)-ONES

ABSTRACT

A series of N-alkyl,2,6-dialkyl-3’-phenyl-1H,1’H-spiro(pyridine-4,2’-quinazolin)-4’(3’H)-ones were synthesized by the reaction of substituted isatoic anhydride with N-alkyl-2,6-dimethyl-2,3- dihydro pyridine-4(1H)-ylidine) aniline. The structures of the products were confirmed from 1HNMR, 13CMR, IR and LCMS spectra. The antimicrobial activities of all synthesized compounds against Gram-positive (S.aureus,), Gram-negative bacteria (E.Coli.) and fungal strains (, C. albicans) were evaluated.
