Abstract

DRUG LOADED BIO MEMBRANES - CHITOSAN - CLINICAL APPLICATIONS

ABSTRACT

Chitosan is product which is obtained from the plants and animals. It is a polysaccharide biopolymer and produced from the alkaline deacetylation of natural chitins. These are widely used in the different aspects by which the efficiency of the particular property can be increased without any side effects. It is not only used in industries, cosmetics, water filtration but now-a-days it is highly useful in biomedical purpose. In the present study the preparation of chitosan which act as allopathy and homeopathy drug to the bio membranes and to select the best membrane to find its efficacy in wound healing. These membranes have the potential application as drug release and biocompatible grafts for injury, burns and surgeries.
