FLAVONOIDS IN KIDNEY PROTECTION

ABSTRACT

Flavonoids are having different therapeutic activities like, anti-hyperglycemic, anti hyperlipidemic, hepatoprotective and several others like antiviral,anti inflammatory. Different Flavonoids like silymarin, hesperedin, morin hydrates, propinol, naringenin, querecetin, rutin have protective effect on kidney.This review is concerned with flavonoids having wide range of nephro protective activities in different conditions like glomerulonephritis in diabetic nephropathy and other chemical induced kidney failure like gentamycin, ccl4 and cyclosporine.
