ROLE OF DHUMAPANA THERAPY IN THE MANAGEMENT OF TAMAKA SHWASA (BRONCHIAL ASTHMA)

ABSTRACT
Tamaka shwasa is a disease in which the patient experience severe symptoms of respiratory distress with extreme weakness, fatigue and mental glooming. According to ayurveda, tamaka shwasa is mainly kaphaja –Vataja disorder with kapha as a leading dosha. According to Acharya charaka – vayu moving in the reverse order pervades the channels afflicts the neck and head and stimulate phlegm to cause rhinitis first and after this the roused kapha obstruct the passage of pranavayu which then get vitiated and produces Ghurghuraka shabda (Wheezing), kasa (cough), pramoha (faintness), anidra (disturb sleep) etc.[1] In summery it can be said that there is mainly.
