ASSESSMENT OF IRON CONTENT IN GROUND WATER OF SOME VILLAGES IN SHIRALA TALUKA, SANGLI DISTRICT (MS) INDIA

ABSTRACT
The present study is mainly focus on assessment of iron content in
ground water of some villages of Shirala Taluka, Sangli District. The
iron content in ground water was estimated by using Phenanthroline
method. The results revealed that, the most of the ground water
samples of studied villages were exceeds the BIS permissible level.
Thus, the ground water samples were mainly contaminated with iron
content and the proper treatments must be adapted for the
improvement -water quality.
