ABSTRACT
Contamination of aquatic environment with heavy metals has become a matter of great concern because of their toxicity, persistance and bioaccumulation. The present study is planned to determine the protein and glycogen content in the liver, kidney and gills of Channa punctatus exposed to two sublethal concentrations of Cadmium (Cd) as CdCl2 for 30 days. The results clearly showed the sublethal concentrations of Cadmium significantly decreased the protein and glycogen levels in exposed fish, Channa punctatus after 30 days exposure when compared with control.
Keywords: Cadmium, fish tissues, protein, glycogen, Channa punctatus.
