HEPATOPROTECTIVE ACTION OF LAWSONIA INERMIS - A SIDDHA REVIEW

ABSTRACT
Lawsonia inermis is a well known medicinal plant used in traditional Indian medicine. Different parts of this plant have been used in Siddha medicine. Various studies with the action of leaves, flowers, seeds, stem bark, root of L.inermis exhibits hepatoprotective, anti- cancer and wound healing property. This review emphasizes the action of L. inermis in liver disorders induced by certain drugs and chemicals and it also gives a bird‟s eye view on hepatoprotective action of L.inermis.
