ABSTRACT

Notable research in drug delivery started in 1950â€™s with the advent of polyclonal antitumour antibodies developed for targeting. Bangham et. al. discovered liposomes in early 1960â€™s. However, it took long time and considerable efforts to make this drug delivery highly meaningful and practical in market. The present review is to illustrate liposomes as drug delivery system, its advantages and many important works done on this drug delivery system.
