ABSTRACT
In the outline of NDDS, an accessible drug molecule can obtain a new life there by, growing its market value, competitiveness and patent time. The various NDDS available in market, as an oral controlled release [CR] system that grip the major market share because of their understandable advantages of easiness of administration and better patient compliance. Osmotic systems use osmotic pressure as driving force intended for controlled delivery of drugs. Osmotic drug delivery system has not less than one delivery orifice in the membrane for drug release. The sizes of delivery orifice have to be optimized in order to control the release of drug from osmotic systems.
Keywords: Novel drug delivery system, Osmotic systems, Delivery orifice, Semipermeable membrane.
