ABSTRACT
Nanotechnology is the technological innovations in the 21st century. Research and development in this field is growing rapidly throughout the world. A major contribution of this field is the development of new materials in the nanometer scale. Zinc oxide, ZnO is an inorganic compound also known as zincite and occurs rarely in nature, generally in a crystalline form. It is usually orange or red in color due to presence of manganese impurity. Recent studies demonstrated that specially formulated metal oxide nanoparticles have good antimicrobial activity. Microbes are unlikely to develop resistance against the targets in the organisms which means that they would have to develop host mutation simultaneously to protect themselves. The aim of present study is to establish the synthesis of plant mediated zinc oxide nanoparticles using Murraya koeiniggi plant extract and the evaluation of their antibacterial activity. Synthesis of Zno nanoparticles using ethanol extract of Murraya koeiniggi, Characterization of ZnO nanoparticles by SEM analysis, Evaluation of antibacterial activity of ZnO nanoparticles.
Keywords: Nanotechnology, ZnO, Crystalline, Murraya koeiniggi, SEM analysis.
