SYNTHESIS OF SOME 5, 6-DIPHENYL-IMIDAZO [2, 1-B] OXAZOL- 3(2H) ONE DERIVATIVES

ABSTRACT
The work aims at better imidazole phamacophore as both the reactant
used in synthesis have their own biological activity. 5, 6-diphenylimidazo
[2, 1-b] oxazol-3(2h) one derivatives are prepared with the
help of chemicals such as benzoin , urea, choloroacetic acid ,fused
sodium acetate , acetic anhydride ,glacial acetic acid , 4-chloro
benzaldehyde, 3-4 dihydroxy benzaldehyde and anisaldehyde. The
present study reports the synthesis of some novel substituted
imidazoles. The synthesized compound were recrystalized and
identified by TLC, the Rf values were calculated. The melting point of
the product were found and presented uncorrected. Structure of
synthesized compound is confirmed by IR, NMR & Mass
spectroscopy. The entire synthesized compound screened for antimicrobial activity. The
substituted imidazol derivative have wide spectrum of pharmacological activity hence further
structural modifications and screening has to be done to confirm the more and still better
activity.
