Abstract

A REVIEW ON NANOSPONGES

Honey Tiwari*, Alok Mahor, Naveen Dutt Dixit, Manjoo kushwaha

ABSTRACT

Cyclodextrin-based nanosponges, which are proposed as a new nanosized delivery system, are innovative cross-linked cyclodextrin polymers nanostructured within a three-dimensional network. Valvovaginal Candidiasis is a fungal infection of the vagina and causes are itching, burning, soreness, dysparunia and phenohypical signs such as vaginal and vulvar erythema and edema caused by various species of the genus Candida.Nanosponges are a novel class of hyper-crosslinked polymer based colloidal structures consisting of solid nanoparticles with colloidal sizes and nanosized cavities. These nano-sized colloidal carriers have been recently developed and proposed for drug delivery, since their use can solubilize poorly water-soluble drugs and provide prolonged release as well as improve a drug‟s bioavailability by modifying the pharmacokinetic parameters of actives. Nanotech materials can be easier to target for specific cells such as those in cancerous tumors. They can be shaped into containers - miniscule pockets to contain drugs, especially those for cancer that are toThese tiny sponges can circulate around the body until they encounter the specific target site and stick on the surface and begin to release the drug in a controlled and predictable manner. Owing to their small size and porous nature they can bind poorly-soluble drugs within their matrix and improve their bioavailability.xic to healthy tissues and need to be encapsulated until they reach the target.
