ABSTRACT
All around the world, stroke continues to be the primary cause of morbidity and mortality. Both medical intervention and patient involvement through counseling and education are necessary for effective management. The impact that patient counseling has on stroke patients' recovery results, compliance with treatment plans, and general quality of life is assessed in this review. This paper emphasizes the crucial role that counseling plays in enhancing patient outcomes following a stroke by combining the results of several research. Stroke remains a leading cause of death and disability worldwide, significantly affecting patients' quality of life (QoL) and daily functioning. As part of post-stroke management, patient counseling, particularly regarding medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and rehabilitation adherence, plays a crucial role in improving outcomes. This review article aims to assess the effectiveness of patient counseling in stroke management by analyzing its impact on adherence to treatment, recovery, and the overall quality of life in stroke survivors. A comprehensive review of recent studies highlights that counseling interventions, when tailored and delivered interactively, can enhance patient adherence to medications, promote better recovery, and lead to improved health outcomes. However, barriers such as insufficient healthcare resources, inadequate patient engagement, and low interprofessional collaboration need to be addressed to maximize the potential of patient counseling in stroke care.[1]
