ABSTRACT
The importance of antenatal care for the prevention and management of maternal and fetal complications is well known. Various physiological requirements associated with pregnancy involve multiple systems of the mother, leading to somatic symptoms such as pallor, pedal edema, heartburn, leg cramps, and backache, followed by leucorrhea along with general weakness. Scientific terms and specific drugs are referenced in different texts like Sushruta Samhita and Charaka Samhita, but their importance is also highlighted through classical dietary practices like ghee and milk. Similarly, Gokshura Siddha Ksheerapaka is recognized as a rejuvenating substance to support maternal health during pregnancy, helping ensure mental well-being that positively affects the next generation. Shatavari combined with buffalo milk, Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris), known for its Madhura Rasa (sweet taste), Sheeta Virya (cooling potency), and nourishing (brumhana) properties, offers benefits like promoting strength, boosting digestion, and providing diuretic effects. This study investigates the therapeutic implications of Gokshura Siddha Ksheerapaka in enhancing fetal growth while addressing maternal concerns.
