Abstract

NEW METHOD FOR SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF DICLOFENAC IN PURE FORM AND BIOAVAILABILITY STUDY

Dr. Malek Mohammed Sahel Okdeh*, Mohammad Haroun and Mohammad Obeid

ABSTRACT

This research is concerned with reviewing an analytical method for the drug diclofenac in its pure form, complexed with an organic reagent (HAN) is 3-hydroxy-4 [(hydroxyphenyl)azo]1- naphthalene sulfonic acid, depending on the method of preparing the reagents. Nitrogenous reagents are generally prepared by the coupling reaction of diazonium salts with a suitable organic substance to give mono-azo dyes. The organic compound (HAN) was complexed with diclofenac and the spectral scanning process of the complexation reaction product was carried out. The results showed that the maximum wavelength of the drug is at (275nm), while the maximum wavelength of the organic reagent is (418nm), and the maximum wavelength of the reaction of the reagent (HAN) with diclofenac is in the vicinity of (500nm). The linear series for the drug analysis in spectrophotometry falls within the range (0.006-0.028) mg/ml and is characterized by a close correlation This research is concerned with reviewing an analytical method for the drug diclofenac in its pure form, complexed with an organic reagent (HAN) is 3-hydroxy-4 [(hydroxyphenyl)azo]1- naphthalene sulfonic acid, depending on the method of preparing the reagents.
