ABSTRACT
Main objective behind formulating any dosage form is to development of optimized and stable dosage from which will release the drug firstly in conventional formulations. The various methods to enhanced solubility by micronization, nanonization, self- emulsification, solubilization, solid dispersion, co solvency and complexation have all been used in recent research to increase the solubility of the drug, but the liquisolid compact has demonstrated superior results for enhancing dissolution. In most of the cases absorption of drug is less which is due to various factors, one of the most important factors is drug solubility. Liquid solid technology are a novel and promising addition to such a novel goal because the liquisolid technology has been successfully
used to treat low-dose with poorly soluble drugs. A Hydrochlorothiazide is prescribed to treat high blood pressure, kidney disorders and edema. Propylene glycol as non- volatile solvent, Avicel PH102 as carrier materials and Aerosil 200 as coating material in liquisolid tablets. Hydrochlorothiazide can be easily formulated using Liquisolid tablets by direct compression method.
Keywords: Propylene glycol, Avicel PH 102, Liquisolid technology, solubility, in- vitro drug release.
