FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF IMMEDIATE RELEASE TABLETS OF ZOLMITRIPTAN

ABSTRACT

The Present Research work, focuses on immediate release tablets orinstant release tablets, developed as an alternate to traditional oraldosage forms. Immediate release tablet are solid dosage forms withactive chemicals or pharmaceuticals that, when pushed up against thetongue, quickly disintegrate in a matter of seconds. Using the novelsuper-disintegrating agents such as Croscarmellose Sodium, SodiumStarch glycolate and cross povidone as superdisintegrants that givesrapid disintegration of the tablet after oral administration. There arenovel types of dosage forms that act very rapidly after theadministration. This research work provides a significant detail aboutthese immediate release tablet of Zolmitriptan and its mechanism ofaction and Preparation technique, list of excipients and evaluation ofthese dosage form.
