FORMULATION, CHARACTERIZATION AND COMPARISON OF HERBAL HAIR OIL WITH MARKETED PRODUCTS

ABSTRACT
Hair loss is a relatively common occurrence that causes concern inpeople of all ages. In most cases, hair loss is permanent, but it can leadto alopecia. Hair root activation is necessary to improve hairdevelopment and prevent hair loss. Herbal cosmetics are increasinglywidely used by the general public due to the concept of fewer adverseeffects and a higher level of safety and security. Through acomprehensive formulation process, the herbal hair oil was developedusing the various herbal ingredients such as Pipli, Aparajita, Hibiscus,Fenugreek, Onion, Vit B5 and Vitamin E. These ingredients arecarefully selected for their proven benefits for hair growth,nourishment, and strengthening. This oil was prepared by a Hotextrusion method. Herbal hair oil has aromatic odor and darkbrownish in appearance. Herbal hair oil had characterized byEvaluation parameters like refractive index, pH, saponification value,and specific gravity. After Evaluation and comparison with marketedproduct the herbal oil demonstrated Newtonian flow, as well as good hair growth and weight,with no irritation. Conclusively, combination of effective herbs could be used to improve hairgrowth.
