ABSTRACT
Background: Fixed Drug Eruption (FDE) is a rare adverse cutaneousreaction characterized by recurrent, well-defined skin lesions at thesame site after re-exposure to a specific drug. Paracetamol, widelyused for its analgesic and antipyretic properties, has been infrequentlyassociated with FDE. Case Description: An 8-year-old male presentedwith fever and an itchy rash affecting the face, abdomen, and backafter receiving paracetamol syrup. He had a prior history of a similarrash occurring two months earlier following paracetamoladministration. Clinical examination confirmed a diagnosis of FDE.The offending drug was discontinued, and symptomatic treatment wasinitiated, leading to complete resolution of the lesions within threedays. Conclusion: This case highlights the need for increasedawareness of paracetamol-induced FDE, even after previousuneventful use. Early identification and withdrawal of the causativeagent are essential to prevent recurrence and ensure patient safety.
