FORMULATION AND EVALUATON OF A HERBAL EXPECTORANT CHURNA

ABSTRACT
The aim of this work is to formulate and evaluate an expectorantchurna for cough and associated respiratory disorder by using naturalherbal ingredients. All ingredients were powered, weighed accuratelyand mixed geometrically for uniform formulation and then evaluatedfor parameters including organoleptic, physiochemical, physical,phytochemical screening along with stability examination. Churna iswidely used to cure fever linked flu, chest congestion and otherrespiratory problems like pneumonia, bronchitis and tuberculosis. Inthis study it was concluded that this expectorant churna constituteingredients that effectively loosen the phlegm, possess antiinflammatoryproperty, potent ability to soothe cough as well aspossess good physical parameters and free from irritations.
