Abstract

MANAGEMENT OF PCOD/PCOS THROUGH AYURVEDA – A REVIEW

Priyanka Tripathi* and Prabhanshu Gupta

ABSTRACT

Polycystic ovarian disorder is a foundational metabolic and endocrine condition. Hyperinsulinemia and hyperandrogenemia are the essential drivers of oligo/amenorrhea, Hirsutism, weight, and extended ovaries with numerous pimples and thick tunica, prompting anovulation. Ayurvedic ailments like Yoni Vyapad, Aartava Dushti, and Jatiharini bear similitudes to Pushpaghni Jatiharini, as portrayed by Acharya Kashyapa. Ayurveda proposes that PCOS can be constrained by Samshodhan Chikitsa and way of life alterations. To forestall it, follow Dinacharya and Ritucharya, use Pathya Aahara, Vihara, and Aushadha, stay away from Apathya Aahara, Vihara, Prajnaparadha, Mandagni, and limit desserts. Other etiological parts incorporate Kapha Vardhaka Aahar, absence of fondness, and others. Bringing down Kapha, controlling insulin, eliminating blockages, and utilizing Aushadha, Aahara, and Vihara can help forestall and treat PCOS. As needs be, it could be connected with Aartava Kshaya, Aartava Dushti, Yoni Vyapad, Bandhya, and Jataharini. As indicated by Ayurveda, PCOS can be dealt with Samshodhan Chikitsa and way of life adjustment.

Keywords: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome; Yoni Vyapad; Aartava Dushti; Jatiharini; Dinacharya; Ritucharya.
