FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF SKIN REJUVENATING HERBAL FACE MASK

ABSTRACT
The skin is the largest organ of the human body, encompassing theentire external surface and serving as a protective barrier between thebody and internal organs and the external environment. Face masks arein the form of liquid or paste which produces stimulating sensation ofrejuvenation. Skin rejuvenation refers to the process of enhancing theappearance and vitality of the skin by reducing signs of aging,improving texture, and promoting a healthier complexion. The primeobjective of this work is to formulate and evaluate herbal face maskwith varying concentrations. Three different formulations containingingredients like bitter gourd, neem leaf extract and orange peel powderwere prepared and named as F1 to F3 and the extracts were prepared bySoxhlet extraction and maceration. The prepared formulation wasevaluated by different parameters like morphological evaluation,physico-chemical evaluations including stability studies, anti-microbial test (by disk diffusionmethod against S. aureus) and antioxidant test. Phytochemical test was carried out toestablish the presence of active constituents having antioxidant and antimicrobial activity.
