ABSTRACT
Background: According to a study by Umi Budi Rahayu, 2020 done on effectiveness of physiotherapy interventions in brain plasticity, balance and functional ability in acute stroke survivors had improved. Aim of The Study: To assess the effect of brain plasticity on functional ability among stroke survivors. Objectives of The Study: To evaluate the impact of brain plasticity training on functional ability on stroke survivors To analyze the effect of physiotherapy rehabilitation on functional activities on stroke survivors.Methodology: This study included 30 samples of stroke patients who were divided into two groups, namely Group-A (Experimental group) with 15 samples & Group-B (control group) with 15 samples. The brain plasticity with Neuro restoration protocol was given to Group –Aand conventional physiotherapy was given to Group-B for a duration of 45mins per day for 5 days per week for 4 weeks. Efficacy of the interventions was measured by Barthel index. Result: The post-test values showed significant improvement in group A (Experimental group) than group B (control group). Conclusion: Brain plasticity was effective in improving functional ability among stroke survivors.
Keywords: Cerebrovascular accident, brainplasticity, Barthelindex, functional ability, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, constraint- induced movement therapy.
