ABSTRACT
Cosmetics encompasses a wide range of products intended to be applied to the human body in various ways, such as rubbing, pouring, sprinkling, or spraying. They serve purposes like cleaning, beautifying, enhancing attractiveness or altering appearances. Examples of cosmetics include tooth paste, shampoo, conditioners, mascara, after- shave lotion, styling gel, creams, lotions, powders, perfumes, lipsticks, nail polish, eye and facial makeup, hair wavers, hair dyes, hair sprays, deodrants and anti persipirants. Cosmetics have diverse function. Personal care and skin care cosmetics are used to cleanse and protect the body or skin. Makeup cosmetics are designed to enhance or change one’s appearance, covering blemishes, enhancing natural features like eye brows and eye lashes, adding colour to the face, or transforming the appearance to resemble someone or something else. Some cosmetics are also created to provide a fragrance to the body.
