EFFECT OF VIRECHANA KARMA ON BIOMARKERS IN DISEASE AMAVATA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO ESR AND RA FACTOR

ABSTRACT
Amavata is chronic disease which can occur in any age group of people. It is characterized by pain similar to that of Vrischika damshtra and affects the joints of hasta, pada, shira, gulpha, trika, jaanu, and uru. Sandhi Shoola, Sandhi Shotha, Sthabdata, and Sparshaasahyata are praktyatma lakshanas of the disease. Virechana karma is one of the therapies explained in classical text for treating Amavata. Where doshas are expelled out of body through gudamarga. It is used mainly for diseases originating from vitiated Pitta. Additionally, it helps with diseases where Pitta is linked to either the Vata or the Kapha dosha. It acts on both the Kapha and Vata Adhishthans in addition to directly affecting the Agni Adhishthan.5 patients of Amavata fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected for snehapana followed Virechana. It was observed that maximum patient in the study givenstatistically significant relief in VAS score ESR. And there was significant results were observed in the clinical symptoms of the disease.
