ABSTRACT
Indralupta is one of the Urdhwajatrugata Vyadhi characterized by patchy hair loss on scalp and beard. Indralupta can be correlated with Alopecia areata disease in contemporary science.[1] In Ayurveda texts, Indralupta is mentioned under kshudrarogas characterized by localized loss of hair without any inflammatory changes. According to Sushruta Acharya, Indralupta is caused by vitiated pitta in association with vitiated vata, resulting in hair falling from the scalp. Vitiated rakta and kapha block the orifices of the hair follicles, thereby restricting the growth of new hair. Ayurveda science has great potential to treat such autoimmune diseases with Shodhan and Shaman with locally procedures. In this single case report Indralupta patient treated with Parijat Patra Prachchhana karma, lepa for local application and internal medicine. This treatment helps to regrow hair earlier in patchyarea.
