Abstract

GREEN SYNTHESIS OF H/SUBSTITUTEDTHIOCARBAMIDOINDOLE

ABSTRACT

Recently in this laboratory we have developed one pot synthesis of 6-N-(H/substitutedthiocarbamido)indole by the interactions of 6-chloroindole and H/substitutedthiourea by microwave irradiation at 50C for two minutes. After two minutes the reaction mixture was poured in ice cold water with continuous stirring. During stirring ivory coloured crystals of product were separated out. It was filtered and washed several times with distilled water. The product was recrystallized by ethanol, yield 94% and melting point 175-176C. The characterization and confirmation of the product was done by elemental analysis, chemical characteristics and spectral studies.
